The Riding Center in Pescasseroli offers courses for beginners and experienced riders. A professional and friendly guide accompanies you on your ride. You are shown the features of the area while riding and once you feel proficient and confident with your horse you may be able to leave the group and explore the valley by yourself. You may also have the opportunity of taking a long range ride from Pescasseroli to Tavoliere delle Puglie. (the so called “Transumanza Week”). If you are looking for a real contact with nature, old and genuine flavours, acres of unspoilt wilderness, the Horse Riding Center and Farm offers you the freshness of its products both in the variety and the simplicity of its cuisine.
The farm and the center cover an area of 370 hectares.
The structure accommodates :
– Six paddocks
– 40 Boxes
– 35 Stalls – 1 Hayloft
– 1 Sheeppen
– 4 Exercise rings for horses and riders work
– 15 Rooms – 1 Restaurant which seats 40 people
– 1 Amusement park and playground
– A covered riding area (under costruction)
Thanks to over forty years of experience, the Riding School offers:
– riding lessons for beginners
– lessons geared to obtaining a riding certificate
– one hour lessons for beginners or additional hours for advanced riders (both English an American saddle riding methods are practiced)
– livery
– horses’ breeding and training
Recently built, the Farm accommodation, includes 15 rooms overlooking the suggestive views of the “Abruzzi” mountains. Each room is provided with central heating, ensuite bathroom and country style furnishings, for a relaxing stay either in the summer, to discover the beauty of the National Park or in the winter for those who love skiing.
The Pescasseroli Riding Farm Holidays offers genuine home made food based on some typical dishes, prepared with tasty and genuine local products.
There are a great variety of activities: dozing or sunbathing in the fields, appreciating the sights and sounds of the mountains, walks (on foot, riding and on mountain bikes, collecting mushrooms, along the pathways for unexpected encounters with squirrels, roe-bucks, fallow-deer, eagles) trekking or riding on a sleigh through the magic white winter silence. Placed in suitable area for tourism and offering several itineraries along suggestive routes from one valley to another, the Farm is the ideal reference point for those who love mountain biking. From April to October excursions with an experienced technical federal trainer are organized.
Thanks to its central geographical position, Pescasseroli is a departure point for many excursions that allow people to cover a large area of the Park , from the top of the “Marsicano” to the “Serra del Carapale” as far as the beautiful view of the “Creste della Rocca” between Abruzzo e Lazio.
During the months of May, June, September and October, the Farm organizes two-day trekking excursions.
In the first week of September, a departure for the “Transumanza” going through the “tratturo regio” from Pescasseroli to Candela is organized.
In collaboration with Ecotur excursion programmes are offered throughout the whole year, and guided excursions on foot are proposed.
